Expert Day: Prepare the Fair

Georganiseerd door
Flanders DC

Going to Gamescom (or another gaming fair)? Great! To help you get the most out of the event, we’re organising another Expert Day: Prepare The Fair. Taking place on June 20th in Brussels, our experts will make sure you know how to bring your A game to the convention.

As game developers aren’t built to function on an empty stomach, we kick off the afternoon with a couple of sandwiches. While building up energy to focus on the sessions ahead, Natascha from Flanders DC will bring you up to speed on some new Gamescom practicalities. She will go over the booth design and smash you with some important deadlines to make sure we have everything to set you up properly at the fair.

Immediately afterwards head honcho of Fishing Cactus Bruno Urbain will present a keynote on the vital topic of pitching. Having successfully shipped more than 50 games on different platforms with varying business models, he’s ideally placed to let you in on the secrets of the perfect video game pitch. You’ll be able to use his practical tips to prepare the ultimate pitch to unleash at a fair.

After a short break you’ll get to choose two out of three subjects, which you’ll dive deeper into during smaller sofa sessions:

  • Eline Muijres (Dutch Game Garden) will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about PR

  • Twitch streamer Mathia Koolhout will explain how to use influencer marketing and social media to gather a crowd

  • Ben Lavery (The Trailer Farm) will teach you how to make a stunning game trailer.

Our sofas fit about 10 people who’ll listen and discuss the topic with the expert speaker. Each session is set to take 45 minutes, so you’ll get over and hour of valuable roundtable insights.

If your thirst for knowledge still isn’t satisfied by then, you can also book our experts (see full profiles below) for a one-on-one meeting. Between 15.30 and 18.00 they will be at your disposal in 30 minute slots. Please specify who you’d like to talk to when you sign up for the event. We try to accommodate all attendees, but there’s only so much time, so please don’t hate us if you don’t get to talk to everyone on your list.

Not in the mood for a tête-à-tête? No problem! Just stick around and have a chat with the other participants over a drink and a snack. We’ll kick you out around six, though. You’ve been warned!

In coorperation with FLEGA, WALGA, Hub Brussels and ADN.
