Strategic sourcing & development intern

 

BAKERMAT is a platform that mixes innovative relations with textile suppliers and new cutting-edge digital solutions to offer fashion designers and brands a more transparent and efficient way to access materials. It is a symbiosis between a textile shop, a virtual fabric library and a material agency; a place where innovation, digitization and artistic creation meet. 

Bakermat is looking for a Strategic sourcing & development intern. 

 As an intern, you will mostly work on our material agency, closely with our Sourcing & Procurement Manager to assist in activities of business development, sourcing and strategic marketing. 

Key responsibilities 

  1. Business development: 
    • Help outline main sourcing trends of client’s interests. 
    • Define target clients and strategic plans for the EU market. 
    • Actively engage with optimizing our consultancy services. 
  2. Sourcing & strategic marketing: 
    • Implement marketing strategies through various channels. 
    • Assist in expanding the supplier portfolio. 
    • Assist in following up and maintaining textile partner relationships. 
  3. General Responsibilities: 
    • Explore different marketing strategies for our material agency. 
    • Assist in evaluation of project results, preparing reports, and making recommendations for future actions. 

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as marketing, branding, fashion management and production. 
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Adobe Creative Cloud. 
  • Knowledge on textiles and an understanding of the fashion supply chain. 
  • Strong interest in the innovation of the fashion industry. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. 
  • Plus: speaking Italian and/or French 

 

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in implementing branding and strategy for an upcoming innovative platform. 
Interns will work with industry professionals, participate in influential industry events, and contribute to exciting initiatives.

Note: This position is unpaid, but academic credit may be available depending on the requirements of your institution. 
The position requires a commitment of 20 to 40 hours per week for a minimum of 3 months
